View through the trees of the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh, Scotland. Resulting from a competition in 1895 the hotel originally opened as The North British Station Hotel in 1902 and was owned by the North British railway Company. It was designed by architect William Hamilton Beattie. The architecture is Victorian, influenced by the traditional Scottish Baronial Style.
