Description
The Eurasian Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) is a small bird in a colourful mix of blue, blue-black, yellow, green and white making it a most attractive garden visitor. The birds are famed for their acrobatic skills, as they can cling to the outermost branches and hang upside down when looking for food. They feed on insects, caterpillars, seeds and nuts.
Blue tits are common in woodland, hedgerows, parks and gardens. They usually nest in tree holes, although easily adapt to nest boxes where necessary. They are widespread throughout the United Kingdom with the exception of some Scottish islands.
