Description
Bridge out to a control mechanism for Harlaw Reservoir, Pentland Hills Regional Park.
Harlaw reservoir is located behind an earth gravity dam, constructed between 1843 and 1848 to the east and downstream of Threipmuir Reservoir.
Designed by civil engineer James Jardine. The work was commissioned by the Edinburgh Water Company as part of their scheme to provide water supplies to Edinburgh and its surrounding areas.
Harlaw Reservoir lies at the foot of the Pentland Hills on the Malleny Estate. Many potential fishing spots surround the reservoir but it is always possible to find tranquillity here.
