View down Hunter's Close to the south end of the Grassmarket, Edinburgh.
The entrance is opposite the place designated for public executions and is also the site of the Porteous Riots in 1736. Sir Walter Scott used the events as the backdrop in his 7th novel - The Heart of Midlothian.
