Japanese anemones produce saucer-shaped flowers on tall, slender, branched stems. They are herbaceous perennials with fibrous, rhizomatous or tuberous rootstocks. They prefer rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils. These beautiful plants are late flowering from August until October and do well in containers or the border.
