Stained glass window in the North Nave aisle (west wall), St.Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh, Scotland.
Window of three trefoil-headed lights, arranged in two stages with tracery.
The Crossing of Jordan;
The upper stage depicts Joshua leading the people of Israel across the Jordan river into the promised land, including scenes of the Arc of the Covenant and stones being lifted from the river basin.
The lower stage depicts Jephthah´s daughter, Maria or Miriam, sister of Aaron and Ruth the Moab - three heroines of the Old Testament.
The tracery contains angels.
This window was installed in 1886.
