Description
South Queensferry lies ten miles to the north-west of Edinburgh city centre, on the shore of the Firth of Forth. The town was traditionally a royal burgh of West Lothian and it is now administered by the City of Edinburgh Council.
Located in West Terrace is the Queensferry Tolbooth. It was built in 1635 and was the hub of town life; it was used as a customs office, court, prison and council chamber.
The clock was added to the steeple in celebration of Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee.
