This bridge carries Baird Road over the canal and is named after Hugh Baird, one of the canal's engineers.
The Bridge Inn was originally a farm, which was then converted to a staging post on the canal. Today it is a popular public house and restaurant. It is also the base for the Edinburgh Canal Centre where history, activities, boat hire and cruises are on offer.
Welcome! I am an Artist/Photographer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. My interests are wide and varied and this is reflected in my subject matter. I enjoy finding the beauty in even the most mundane subjects and the challenge of depicting the small details which are sometimes overlooked. Where possible, I research my subjects to give me a better understanding, which in turn allows me to adapt my approach to each one.
