Description
The beautiful lance-shaped leaves of the exotic Cordyline australis (cabbage tree).
It is native to New Zealand but can be grown as an ornamental tree in the Northern Hemisphere countries with maritime climates.
In spring and early summer, sweetly perfumed flowers are produced in large, dense panicles (flower spikes) and the nectar attracts many insects. The fruit is a small white berry and is eaten by birds.
