Picturesque landscape with Jacob sheep - Edinburgh, Scotland.
This suburban area of Woodhall is nestled below the Pentland Hills and scattered with the rare breed of Jacob sheep. Their striking piebald fleece and four horns add a wonderful interest to the landscape.
The disused quarry of Torphin in the background, was formerly exploited for the iron-rich igneous rocks. The exposures consist of layers of lava interbedded with volcanic ash dating back 410 million years, to the early Devonian Period. It was one of the first Local Geodiversity Sites in the city and remains the only one with a geological management plan.

Welcome! I am an Artist/Photographer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. My interests are wide and varied and this is reflected in my subject matter. I enjoy finding the beauty in even the most mundane subjects and the challenge of depicting the small details which are sometimes overlooked. Where possible, I research my subjects to give me a better understanding, which in turn allows me to adapt my approach to each one. I do not restrict myself to any particular style or media as this gives me the freedom to create my vision on each individual piece.
