Viola is a genus of flowering plants in the violet family Violaceae.
They are early blooming small plants and produce a wealth of dainty, clear-faced, fragrant blooms in jewel-like shades from late spring to early summer.
Viola is generally more winter-hardy than the larger-flowered pansy.
